Chesterfield
Chesterfield Market

You'll be surprised at what you can buy at Chesterfield Market. Picture the scene! Monday morning and the streets are busy. Market Place and New Square are packed with stalls, their bright canopies flapping in the breeze. Traders shout their wares and the people of Chesterfield are up and about on this , the first Market Day of the week. Wander around the stalls and see what bargains are on offer. Whatever you want to buy, there's a stall somewhere waiting to sell - it's just a matter of finding it!

Shopping in Chesterfield
There's more to Chesterfield than the Market. There's the Vicar Lane Shopping Centre, the Pavements Centre and all the High Street stores you would expect. Then there are all those smaller, more unusual shops hiding in out of the way places like the Yards and the Shambles, where you can also find the Royal Oak, one of Chesterfield's oldest public houses. Tradition relates that it was built in the 12th Century and was formerly a rest house for the “Knight's Templar”, but there's no real proof.
